From the artist:
I came across this white parasol mushroom in McCarren Park in a spot I crossed every day—it had sprouted up overnight. I created a guest book with a pen chained to it and left the ensemble next to the mushroom for the day. I saw this mushroom as a representative of the God of Surprises. When I collected the guest book, it logged several visitors.
